Connecticut Native Selected for Computer Forensics Internship With the Department of Homeland Security.

Mr. Ken Mackiewicz studied criminal justice at the St. Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire..

Ken Mackiewicz, a native of Cromwell Connecticut has been selected to intern with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in their Computer Forensics lab.

Mackiewicz will be working with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) special agents helping to prevent terrorism, and combatting illegal movement of people and goods, according to a press release.

According to the ice.gov website: The primary mission of ICE is to promote homeland security and public safety through the criminal and civil enforcement of federal laws governing border control, customs, trade and immigration.

Mackiewicz will be working in the Norris Cotton Federal Building in Manchester New Hampshire.

Mackiewicz received the Gold President's Volunteer Service Award in 2009 which awarded by Mrs. Connecticut, Lynnette Letsky Piombo, while a sophomore at Xavier High School in Middletown, Connecticut.

Mackiewicz also served his community by working with the Manchester NH Police Athletic League, a nonprofit that supports low-income families and inner-city youth while he was studying in New Hampshire.

Mackiewicz's would like to return to school and earn a master's degree in emergency and threat response management. His preferred college is the University of Chicago. From there, he would like to become a special agent or computer forensic investigator.

He will be studying computer forensics during his last semester in college.
